Il Duca pipes are the creation of master craftsman Massimiliano "Max" Rimensi. His love of pipes began in 1990, and hasn't slowed yet. After having found the necessary materials, Max went to work in his uncle's carpentry shop. Of course the initial results weren't the best, but his passion for Briarwood began to grow and grow. Today we are presented with the expertly engineered & artistically thought out Il Duca Pipes. Using aged Briar from all over Italy & unique materials like rosewood, black bamboo & tulipwood, Mr. Rimensi creates modern masterpieces that are as great of smokers as they are to behold. Il Duca Pipes are graded Barone (often rustic or sandblasted) Conte (crisp, smooth pieces) & Duca (quite perfect) - all references to the medieval/renaissance history of Ferrara, Italy from which Max hails.
