Molina Shorty Black 122 Pipe - Bent Apple

I'll start off by saying that this is my first pipe that isn't a cob. I've been pretty loyal to MM over the past few years but wanted to branch out and figured this would be a good investment that didn't break the bank. The good: the pipe feels wonderful held in the hand or clenched in the teeth. It is compact yet feels sturdy and well-made. It is light enough to be easily held in the mouth but the build quality is so good that you know if you drop it its going to be fine and you don't have to worry about the bowl burning out. The bad: i feel like I can only smoke non-arromatics out of this little guy. If I load it with some "nightcap" it puffs away like a dream, but the second i put CnD or Molto Dolce in there it becomes a literal chore to keep it lit. At first i thought it was because some of the aromatics i use come a little moist out of the can (looking at you , Molto Dolce), but the same new tin smoked just fine out of my cobs. Ive only been smoking a pipe for a few years so maybe there's some secret to this that has yet to be revealed to me by the senior pipers, but for the life of me this little pipe will not tolerate aromatics. For everything else though it really is wonderful.
